Registration, Accommodations, & Travel

Registration Information

  • Registration fee is $500.
  • Registration fee covers all conference fees including meeting sessions and meals. The registration fee does not cover travel, hotel, or any other incidentals. 
  • Participants are responsible for reserving a room at The Oread Hotel at the conference rate and for arranging transportation to and from the airport. 
  • Last day to cancel and get a reimbursement for registration fees is April 3, 2025.
  • Registration is restricted to arts and sciences deans from AAU Member Institutions.     

Accommodation Information

  • We have reserved a block of rooms at the The Oread Hotel for a special rate. Hotel Info: 1200 Oread Ave., 785-843-1200
  • You will need to make your own individual reservation.
  • The link below includes the special hotel reservation University of Kansas rate. 
  • The block of rooms and the rate are only guaranteed by the hotel until March 30. Please make your reservation as soon as possible to secure a room. 
  • Parking is available on-site at the hotel garage for $20 per day.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Transportation:

We recommend flying into Kansas City International Airport (MCI). The ride from the airport to Lawrence is approximately one hour. Here are some of the transportation companies that will take you from the MCI Airport to Lawrence:

Shuttle Companies

Uber or Lyft: Approximate cost per ride between the airport and Lawrence is $100. 

Better Alternative Transportation Services (BATS) 

  • An exclusive personalized service for up to 5 people with door-to-door delivery to any location in Lawrence. Drivers monitor flight arrivals and can meet passengers at the airport gate. Reservations required at least two days in advance.

Super Shuttle 

  • A shared-ride, door-to-door, shuttle service for up to 10 passengers.

GTS Ground Transportation Services

  • Private car or shared shuttle from Lawrence.

  • A $100 one-way flat rate for a van that holds 1-6 people.  

Car Rentals

A quick note: All conference venues are within close walking distance of the hotel, and transportation to the Friday dinner will be provided. 

Meeting Parking:

If you need to park at the conference venue, the Mississippi Street parking garage is right across the street. Please note that if you are parking at the conference hotel, the conference venue is half a block from the hotel.
