Biography —
As Director of Administration for the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, Fowles serves as the primary internal and external liaison to the executive dean. She oversees the implementation of the College's priorities and initiatives through strategic communication, project and initiative management, and coordination among faculty, staff, and the College Leadership Team. Fowles supervises the Dean's Office administrative staff and the College's communications team.
Before joining the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, Fowles worked in Academic Affairs at KU, where she managed the implementation of several major Kansas Board of Regents initiatives, including the systemwide general education framework, math pathways, and corequisite courses. She also partnered with College faculty to enhance and expand the First-Year Seminar program and Jayhawk Blueprint, KU's concurrent enrollment program. Her previous experience includes developing and designing experiential learning courses, overseeing assessment of student learning and curricular effectiveness, and leading communications, assessment, and data analysis efforts in career services.
Fowles earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky, a master's degree from the University of Kansas, and an Ed.D. from the University of Kansas
